The Bottom Line

The NuPhy Air75 v3 is a high-performing mechanical keyboard that sets itself apart with a premium typing feel and robust build quality, earning a solid 90/100 in our aggregated score. This keyboard is an ideal choice for those seeking a compact, high-quality mechanical keyboard with long battery life and stable connectivity options. What we found impressive were the Gateron Low Profile 3.0 switches, which provided a premium typing experience, and the keyboard's construction, which was lauded for its impressive switches, build quality, and stability. The keyboard also offers a versatile connectivity solution with both wired and wireless options. However, some reservations were noted regarding a slightly wobbly knob and a limited choice in switches, along with a slightly cramped ANSI layout.

Battery Life 97

Unanimous consensus · 6 sources

1,200 hours without RGB is a legitimate standout spec, and 5 of 6 sources back it up without dissent.

Key Takeaway

If battery anxiety is a factor in your keyboard decision, this is the one. 1,200 hours without RGB is genuinely hard to beat.

In-Depth Analysis

Battery Life

Unanimous consensus · 6 sources
97 / 100

SemiPro Tech Gear called it 'best-in-class wireless battery life,' and the 1,200-hour figure with RGB off is the kind of number that makes competing keyboards look careless. With RGB on, the number drops significantly, but craftingworlds.com still rated it solid in that mode. For anyone who travels or works away from a desk regularly, this is a meaningful advantage. There's no real controversy here. Six sources, no one pushed back.

Typing Experience 94

Strong consensus · 13 sources

13 sources, near-unanimous praise. The V3's acoustics and feel are the strongest arguments for buying it.

Key Takeaway

For typists and productivity users, this is one of the better low-profile experiences available. Competitive gamers and switch modders should look elsewhere.

In-Depth Analysis

Typing Experience

Strong consensus · 13 sources
94 / 100

The sound profile improvement over V2 is the most-cited upgrade, with Tom's Guide, damiancooper.medium.com, and AppleVis all independently noting more refined acoustics. Gasket mounting absorbs impact and reduces fatigue, and the Gateron Low Profile 3.0 switches get specific praise from craftingworlds.com and semiprotechgear.com for their smooth feel. One persistent flaw: the spacebar stabilizer still rattles, which is a noticeable omission at this price point. Switch selection is also limited, so if you have strong preferences, you may be stuck. For productivity and casual gaming it's excellent. For competitive play or switch enthusiasts, it falls short.

Where Reviewers Disagree

The spacebar stabilizer rattle is a recurring complaint that undercuts an otherwise polished typing experience, and the limited switch selection means you take what NuPhy gives you.

Wireless Connectivity 93

Unanimous consensus · 9 sources

Key Takeaway

Reliable tri-mode wireless with no reported latency issues. If seamless multi-device switching matters to you, this delivers.

In-Depth Analysis

Wireless Connectivity

Unanimous consensus · 9 sources
93 / 100

Multi-device, tri-mode wireless is table stakes for a keyboard at this price, and the V3 executes it cleanly. Craftingworlds.com specifically noted easy mode switching, and tweaktown.com flagged strong cross-platform support for Mac and Windows. The r/NuPhy community described it as reliable and quiet under real-world use. No source flagged connection drops or latency issues, which is the most important thing to know. Build Quality 91

Strong consensus · 11 sources

The CNC aluminum top case earns consistent praise across 11 sources, with the V3 landing noticeably more polished than its predecessor.

Key Takeaway

If you want a low-profile board that feels premium without screaming 'gamer,' the build quality delivers. Just don't plan on modding the internals.

In-Depth Analysis

Build Quality

Strong consensus · 11 sources
91 / 100

Across the board, reviewers agree this is a premium-feeling board that doesn't look like it belongs on a gaming streamer's desk. Tom's Guide called it 'less janky than V2,' which is faint praise on paper but meaningful context for anyone who owned one. The aluminum frame gets specific callouts from multiple sources for its understated finish, and the double-shot PBT keycaps add durability. Two real caveats: disassembly risks damage according to semiprotechgear.com, and heavy use may cause key shine over time. It's not a tank, but it's built well enough that most users won't push those limits.

Where Reviewers Disagree

The build impresses on the outside, but disassembly risks damage, which limits the appeal for anyone who wants to swap switches or mod the internals.

Portability & Design 85

Strong consensus · 17 sources

17 sources, and the consensus is clear: this is one of the better-looking compact keyboards available, built for people who care about desk aesthetics.

Key Takeaway

If you want a compact, premium-looking keyboard that pairs naturally with a MacBook or minimal desk setup, this is a top-tier option. If you need a roomier layout, the 75% form factor will feel tight.

In-Depth Analysis

Portability & Design

Strong consensus · 17 sources
85 / 100

The design language is the V3's most universally praised quality. Multiple sources specifically called out its suitability for MacBook and iPad pairings, and the rubber feet get credit for grip that punches above the keyboard's weight class. Tom's Guide flagged that it costs and weighs slightly more than the V2, which matters if you're cross-shopping. Tweaktown.com noted the ANSI layout feels a little cramped, and r/NuPhy users flagged the function row layout as a minor frustration. For clean-desk professionals and travelers, this is a strong fit. For users who need a full-sized layout feel, the 75% form factor will require adjustment.

Where Reviewers Disagree

The design earns near-universal praise, but the slight weight and cost increase over V2, combined with a cramped ANSI layout, are real trade-offs for portability-focused buyers.

Software & Customization 82

Divided consensus · 9 sources

NuPhy Console 2.0 works well for most users, but stability issues and iOS limitations are real friction points that 9 sources surface.

Key Takeaway

Casual customizers will find Console 2.0 sufficient. Power users who rely on deep remapping or QMK-level control should factor in the software ceiling before buying.

In-Depth Analysis

Software & Customization

Divided consensus · 9 sources
82 / 100

The web-based NuPhy Console 2.0 gets credit for being intuitive and covering the basics: key remapping, macros, and SOCD for gaming. Mac support out of the box is a genuine plus that damiancooper.medium.com flagged. But r/NuPhy users reported stability issues that frustrate power users building custom keymaps, and AppleVis noted that iOS users get a noticeably stripped-down experience. If you're coming from QMK or VIA, the ceiling here will feel low. For most users who just want to remap a few keys and set lighting profiles, it's fine.

Where Reviewers Disagree

The software is accessible enough for most, but stability complaints from r/NuPhy and limited iOS support mean it doesn't match the hardware's polish.

RGB Lighting 76

Divided consensus · 6 sources

The lighting looks good but has real functional gaps. No per-key adjustments and cosmetic-only sidelights are the two things tweaktown.com won't let slide.

Key Takeaway

The lighting looks good in practice, but the lack of per-key control is a real limitation. If RGB customization depth matters, this won't satisfy.

In-Depth Analysis

RGB Lighting

Divided consensus · 6 sources
76 / 100

Six sources weighed in, and the picture is mixed. The uniform bezel and light bar improvements are visible upgrades, and TechBroll noted the backlights are vibrant despite non-transparent keycaps. But tweaktown.com's two specific criticisms land hard: no per-key lighting control, and the sidelights are purely decorative. For a keyboard at this price, per-key RGB is a reasonable expectation. Ho Young Won noted the backlights are more usable in daylight than previous versions, which is a practical win. If RGB is a priority rather than a nice-to-have, the limitations here matter.

Where Reviewers Disagree

The lighting is visually appealing and improved over previous versions, but the absence of per-key adjustment and the cosmetic-only sidelights undercut it for anyone who takes RGB seriously.

What Reviewers Say

Rotary Knob 57

Divided consensus · 10 sources

8 of 10 sources praise the knob's concept, but 3 independently flag it as wobbly and too easy to detach.

Key Takeaway

The knob adds real utility, but the wobble and sleep-mode limitation are hard to ignore. Factor that in if the knob is a primary reason you're considering this board.

In-Depth Analysis

Rotary Knob

Divided consensus · 10 sources
57 / 100

The modular top-right position is a genuinely clever idea, and the interchangeable knob gets consistent praise for adding quick-action functionality. Tom's Guide, TechBoost, and craftingworlds.com all called it a useful productivity feature. The problem is physical: semiprotechgear.com described it as 'quite wobbly,' and benfromsg and craftingworlds.com echoed the stability concern. Damiancooper.medium.com added a functional quirk, the knob won't wake the keyboard from sleep mode. That's a small but annoying daily friction point. The concept is right. The execution needs another revision.

Where Reviewers Disagree

The knob is one of the V3's most-praised features conceptually, but its physical instability is one of the most-cited complaints. Great idea, shaky execution.

What Reviewers Say

"Enhance productivity with the optional rotary knob for quick actions."

Our Verdict

The NuPhy Air75 v3 is recommended for users who value a premium typing feel and robust construction in a compact form factor. While it's slightly pricier and offers fewer switch options than some competitors, the quality and performance make it a worthwhile investment for those who prioritize typing experience and build quality.

Great improvement. King of the low profile keyboards all around

Tech Guru February 3, 2026
If you have been a fan of Nuphy keyboards, you’ll feel right at home. This is a noticeable improvement over the V2 (which I loved) but was torn between the LoFree because it offered a much better typing feel. This improvement fixes all of that. The gasket mount makes a huge difference compared to the V2 and the connectivity issues I used to have with the V2 are absent. Typing feel is incredible for a low profile keyboard and have no complaints. Ultimately went with the Brown switches, but the red ones were great if you enjoy a linear experience.Battery life is excellent even with the backlights on. Also appreciate the new keycap color scheme. Still feels unique, but predominantly simple. Included keycaps allow you to make the board entirely neutral colored if you don’t appreciate the pop of color.Overall, no complaints and couldn’t recommend this keyboard enough. One thing to note is that if you are coming from a V2, the lowest typing angle is a bit higher on this one. You get used to it, but I really became accustomed to the lower one.

finally found a keeper

L. November 9, 2025
I tried a lot of keyboards and settled on this one due to its superior typing experience and quality. The blush switches are exactly what my arthritic fingers need, super smooth and soft activation without a bunch of springback or bottoming out. The battery life is good enough that I can turn off sleep mode during the day. Though I haven’t experienced a bunch of weird behaviors when the keyboard is waking up either. I dislike the keycaps, but that’s a personal preference. Seamless switching between mac and windows profiles is really nice. The keyboard is solid with a good weight to it, it doesn’t shift around, even in my lap. I think it’s the best all around wireless low profile board I’ve tried without loading up on a bunch of weird gimmicks that end up being useless (like a touch bar on the right edge where my trackpad goes). Happy about hot swap, considering putting some tactile switches under my modifiers. And also happy about the knob being optional. Pretty happy all around in fact

Best Keyboard Ever

Don Davies November 9, 2025
Anyone who says that a keyboard shouldn’t cost more $150 has never used this one. It is so amazing.. definitely the best keyboard I’ve ever used. I am not a gamer, but type a lot of email and code. This thing is a pleasure to use. I mean.. I could keep going on just to feel how great it feels, or to get lost in the pleasant, ASMR indusing sound of the keys.I digress.Anyway.. I couldn’t be happier. I love the lights. I love the build quality. The software is so easy to use, totally dialed in.I am a very happy customer.

Great hardware, tedious software, and limited options for key weight

MmmmmmK November 16, 2025
Excellent build quality, however, this is not a very consumer friendly product. You need to access Nuphy’s QMK toolbox via github to update the firmwware. Firmware out of the box will not allow Nuphy’s web-based toold to recognize the keyboard (for example, if you want a mapped Delete key, you are out of luck without doing the above). You’ll need full admin privileges for your device if it’s a work device.I opted for the Blush Nano switches, which are very quiet. They’re excellent switches, but very light, linear switches which for me ended up being to light over londg sessions. I wish they offereed more options for key weight/actuation force.

quality, smooth and looks great

TriedNTrue February 25, 2026
Read and watch all the great reviews.. and they didn’t lie…. It’s the best keyboard I’ve ever used. It’s smooth and looks great on my desk. I was using the Logitech keyboard and it was good, but nuphy Air75 V3 is on another level.

Fine Keyboard, poor customer service

Cameron Sheppard November 15, 2025
Device was mostly fine. The switches are scratchy and particularly poor sounding on my unit. I tried reaching out to support via Amazon and their own website support and have failed to get any communication from Nuphy whatsoever.

nice feeling keyboard but cheap feet. 1st one was a lemon

DH December 18, 2025
Update: new keyboard is much better quality.Solid heavy case. Really nice typing feel and sounds great when you type.Unfortunately, I got a lemon. Spacebar sticks and requires manually pulling it back up.Also, the key next to the dial/button only works on very hard presses. Thinking it was just a bad switch, I swapped it with a key I don’t use much (f9) and it still has the same issue in the same spot. Something is wrong with the board or connection there, not the switch. The feet that lift the keyboard up are really cheap and flimsy. Using the small feet, any bump on the keyboard causes the feet to just fold back in. The bigger feet are a little sturdier but moving the keyboard makes it do weird jumping/hopping instead of just sliding. I would prefer to have a little tilt, but it feels really cheap and annoying, so I just type with the feet flat.I put in my return request and am waiting for a replacement unit. I’ll revise my review based on that one.

BLUETOOTH WAS NOT WORKING BUT SOLUTION FOUND IN THIS REVIEW

M October 12, 2025
The Item is Immaculate, but it was VERY challenging to get it set up with bluetooth. Let me save you the tutorial as one does not exist as of the date of this post.1) I was having trouble pairing with bluetooth on my M1 Pro mBP.1st plug wired connection make sure it works (left side USB C ports)2nd turn it to wired and hold FN and 2 on the keyboard for 5 seconds3rd the indicator on the upper left bar should turn from flashing green to flashing blue4 - DONE!(IF that directly does not work I also did the firmware update on their website- which required a wired connection to the laptop but i am pretty sure that part was not related)Nice keyboard 5/5

Feels and sounds great. A great keyboard!

Best keyboard I have ever owned

Amazon Customer October 28, 2025
I was hesitant to buy it due to reading bad reviews about its connectivity on Reddit. So far it’s working perfectly. I use the dongle on my PC and bluetooth on Macbook and android tablet.Typing on this keyboard is addictive, to the point where I press keys when I’m not doing anything just because it feels good. The keys being silent is another huge bonus. It’s as quiet as typing on my MX Keys mini, which is the quietest keyboard I had ever seen.

The NuPhy Air75 v3 represents a significant evolution in low-profile mechanical keyboards, though with some trade-offs. Design choices prioritize broader appeal over the brand's previously distinctive colorful aesthetic, offering only small accent keys that can be swapped for an all-white appearance. The keyboard is slightly taller than advertised and previous generations, measuring noticeably higher than the Air 75 V1 when switches and keycaps are included. Build quality remains solid with a 220-grit anodized aluminum top case and improved ABS plastic bottom case that feels less hollow. The dual-stage AirFeet provide aggressive typing angles up to 10 degrees, and travel-friendly weight comes in at approximately 730 grams. A refined ridge design creates a floating visual effect for the top case.

  • Best for users wanting clean, minimal desk aesthetics
  • Ideal for MacBook Pro users needing stackable keyboard
  • Consider if you prioritize travel portability
  • Avoid if you prefer previous generation's bold styling
  • Check actual height if low-profile is critical

Setup Showcase r/NuPhy u/ghostly_fjords

The NuPhy Air75 v3 is a low-profile 75% keyboard purchased as a first NuPhy product by ghostly_fjords, who wanted a compact, quiet alternative to their Ducky One 3 100%. After several weeks of ownership, they praise the pre-lubed Blush switches for being exceptionally quiet and tactile without requiring additional modification, though they lubed them anyway for enhanced tactility. The keyboard serves dual work/gaming purposes with aesthetic customization via Carmine Cloud keycaps. However, wireless reliability issues during competitive gaming and software bugs with key remapping are notable pain points. Community discussion reveals switch preference debates, with some finding Blush springs too soft for heavy typing and others praising Pandas as superior alternatives when available.

Key Insights

  • Best for users prioritizing quiet operation in office environments and light gaming, not ideal for competitive wireless gaming
  • Blush switches work well stock — modding enthusiasts should expect to improvise due to lack of specific tutorials
  • Software ecosystem still has stability issues that may frustrate power users needing custom keymaps
  • Switch preference varies significantly by typing style; heavy typists may want to explore alternatives or spring swaps
  • Strong community interest in switch swapping suggests the board serves well as a customizable platform

I wish the Blush springs were about 40% stronger. Love them for the quietness at work but they’re too soft for my heavy hands.

I think at least the Carmine Cloud are also 5 mm higher than the original ones, but it‘s not a big deal. You can see the difference over there: https://imgur.com/a/WeH4Dob

The NuPhy Air75 v3 is a well-received mechanical keyboard, particularly among users who value its silent switches, build quality, and wireless capabilities. • The NuPhy Air75 v3 is ideal for users who require a reliable and quiet mechanical keyboard with a strong wireless connection.
  • The keyboard's design and features make it particularly suitable for professionals like VFX artists who rely on key commands.

Yeah function row is the only annoying thing since it is the older laptop layout but not a big deal. I would like a Cmd key without windows icon also. No white variants of escape and arrows.
