go for 1920x1080p (retinamode) on a 4k monitor and install "betterdisplay" to improve text-read a little....on OSX you cant scale text like in windows, what pisses me off since the last 19 years.
BetterDisplay does not do any 'magic' that macOS cant do itself. you can still pick all the same resolutions.
I've got the same monitor, use 2560 x 1440 via betterdisplay app. Anyone got recommendations on the monitor color settings?

27 inch 2k displays LG ultrafine 4K and 5K displays Apple displays. All displays with 110 or 220 ppi. (Your 1080@32 is 69ppi) All other options will give you blurry picture.
