This monitor is ideal for gamers and professionals seeking high-quality visuals. Our Analysis

The MSI MPG 272URX QD-OLED is a monitor that's making waves in the high-end market, earning a score of 83/100. Its standout feature is the 4K resolution paired with a 240Hz refresh rate, a combination that's hard to find and highly desirable for both gaming and professional applications. What we found impressive is the sharp, clear OLED panel, which delivers vivid colors and deep contrasts, as noted by tomsguide.com. The high pixel density ensures a crisp display, while the DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification underscores its HDR capabilities. However, despite these strengths, there are a few areas where this monitor falls short. Some sources pointed out that the gamma and color temperature are slightly off-target, and there's an issue with black levels in HDR modes, resulting in a washed-out image and weaker color performance. Additionally, the monitor only offers passive cooling, which might be a concern for users who prefer active cooling solutions.

Amazing Monitor!!!

Chris April 21, 2025
Surprisingly, this is a very good monitor. I switched out my very expensive 32 inch mini LED (PG32UQX) for this. The 32 that I was using lacked a lot of features that this monitor has, like HDMI 2.1, DP 2.1a and a built in KVM.The PG32UQX doesn’t have much blooming, but it still shows up from time to time. The MSI 272URX, on the other hand, is OLED and so it has no blooming. It also has solid brightness levels. It seems overall brighter than another OLED that I have. The sharpness you get from 4K at 27 inches is what really sets this one apart. Everything looks clear, sharp and the colors just pop.The only issues that I have, so far, is that there are only two USB-A ports and the power cord location is bad because there is no cover for the cords on the back. If you put this monitor on a monitor arm, the power cord wants to hang down. They could have put a cover over the cables and then all of the cables would exit the cover at the same point and eliminate this issue.Overall, this display looks amazing, has great built quality, is missing a couple of non critical features (cable cover, USB-A ports and a proximity sensor), and performs great.

Great colors, amazing upgrade!

Neville M Boudreaux July 14, 2025
Great quality monitor, OLED has been a huge upgrade for me personally. The difference in color, contrast, and brightness is stellar. 240Hz with DP2.1, no perceptible video lag, can’t ask for much more.Probably the most controversial feature for this monitor is the “Panel Protect” system. Here’s an overview of how it works: every 4 hours of continual use, the system will ask if it can execute a Panel protect pass (by default, it will skip it until the max time allowed). This isn’t simply a turning off of the screen (although that does happen), but an actual cell by cell calibration to check transistor levels and ensure an even brightness. After 16hr (24hr in the latest firmware) of continual use, it forces it. The whole process takes 3 - 4 minutes. Doesn’t bother me in the slightest, but if you are known for leaving your monitors on (and not in sleep mode or anything) for days at a time - just something to keep in mind.

A great monitor

Sarah Garlinghouse May 10, 2025
This is my first qdoled, I love this thing! I have only had it a few days so and it has help up well! The picture looks great love the color! Brightness i run at 70persent, and color at ProColor mode, and p3! I’m very new to qdoled monitors so please forgive me for saying anything wrong in my wording! I like that this is a 240n hertz refresh rate! The brightness works for my needs have not messed with the hdr 400 or the 1000, I just stay in sdr! The only thing i dont like is how long it take to pixel refresh. Other then that like the monitor alot! Have a nice day all!

Silky Smooth, Zero Regrets

Jacob D December 22, 2025
I came from a 32" KTC 2K 1440p monitor and this MSI is a serious step up. Picture quality is crisp, colors are beautiful, setup was fairly painless, and overall viewing feels so much clearer (anyone who has cleaned their dirty glasses knows the feeling I’m talking about). I haven’t really pushed it yet, but I can already tell this thing has plenty in the tank and it’s ready for whatever you throw at it. Excited to see what it’s capable of once I put some real hours on it!

Excellent OLED and 4K experience. Requires changing monitor settings for best experience.

StevenJens November 30, 2025
I’m very much enjoying this monitor. While plug and play, I did have to watch a youtube video on how to correctly set up the monitor settings because when you first power it on, the monitor brightness is very low. Otherwise, the color and text clarity given by the OLED and 4K resolution respectively lives up to the expectation!

The Verdict

The MSI MPG 272URX QD-OLED is a solid choice for those seeking a high-quality gaming and professional monitor. However, for those who require precise color accuracy or active cooling, this monitor might not be the best fit.
