The Bottom Line

The Dell S2725QC monitor is a highly recommended choice for those seeking a high-performance display. It boasts a 4K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a 1500:1 static contrast ratio, delivering sharp images and smooth performance. However, it lacks a 3.5mm audio jack and has a peak brightness of 360 nits, which may be insufficient for well-lit environments. This monitor is best suited for professionals and gamers who prioritize resolution and refresh rate over audio and brightness.

Our Analysis

The Dell S2725QC is a monitor that's widely praised for its high-quality panel and feature set. It sits comfortably at the top of its category, earning a strong consensus as a highly recommended product. What we found particularly impressive is the monitor's 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, which are both supported by a broad consensus of experts. This combination delivers sharp, detailed images with smooth visuals, making it a standout in panel quality. The 1500:1 static contrast ratio, as noted by multiple sources, ensures deep blacks and vibrant colors, further enhancing the viewing experience. USB-C upstream with 65W Power Delivery is another feature that sets this monitor apart, providing convenience and power efficiency. However, there are some trade-offs. The lack of a 3.5mm audio jack means you'll need an external extractor, and the 360 nits peak brightness might not be sufficient for brightly lit rooms. Additionally, the average response time of 5ms is considered mediocre, and some users have reported compatibility issues with older MacBook models, along with the absence of HDR support.

The reviewer sought an affordable matte 27-inch display with single-cable USB-C charging for a MacBook. Costing under $330, this monitor delivers 4K UHD resolution with unexpected 120Hz support and 65W power delivery handling video, audio, and peripheral data simultaneously. The matte IPS panel offers 99% sRGB coverage and 1500:1 contrast ratio, remaining easy on the eyes during extended sessions while providing ergonomic height adjustment. However, macOS users must install BetterDisplay software to access non-integer refresh rates required for proper video project cadence due to incomplete EDID implementation. While not originally designed for professional color grading, it exceeds expectations for general productivity and video monitoring. The reviewer suggests Dell complete the EDID via firmware update but remains extremely satisfied with the overall value proposition.

Decent Monitor for Mac mini

Herball July 23, 2025
Packaged good for delivery in separate Amazon box. Setup was quick and easy following instructions. Connected to Mac mini with USB-C. Needed a little tweaking to get keyboard sound and brightness keys to work. Replaced older iMac27 and screen is acceptable although not the Retina 5K display quality. But at 1/4 the cost, it is a decent monitor. Did not need a webcam, and speakers are more than acceptable but can’t compare to Apple monitors which was expected. Bottom line, for the price and what it is used for, it is an acceptable monitor for the Mac Mini - if you don’t want to shell out the additional $1200. Read many reviews from various sources and some indicated they found it equal or better than other non-Apple Mac compatible monitors costing more. Gave 5 stars for what it is because it is not fair to compare to Apple monitors, if that is what you are used to.

Awesome Upgrade!

rockman July 2, 2025
I bought this to replace a 24" HP 1020p that I’ve been using the past 5 years with a 2015 Mac Mini. The past couple years my aging eyes have been longing for a bigger and clearer screen. So when I updated my system to a 2024 Mac mini M4, I decided to get a new monitor as well… After MUCH looking, comparing, and reading of reviews, both user and pro, I decided on the Dell S2725QC. What made me settle in on this was a combination of things… Great reviews, specs that kept up with (or exceeded) monitors costing considerably more, price, and the “blue light” reduction. Like I said, my eyes are a bit tired these days.I am totally happy with this monitor after using it for the past few weeks, no regrets at all. I had actually considered monitors costing upwards of $900, and I’m sure glad I went with the S2725QC. The image is easier on my eyes, clear, no dead pixels, and it works great with the Mac mini M4. I would definitely purchase it again, and I recommend it to anyone needing a great monitor for a great price. I’m not a gamer, so I can’t comment on that, but at 120hz I don’t see why it wouldn’t do its part. I’ve tried it with both Thunderbolt and HDMI connections and I can’t tell the difference the way I use it.Buy it!

Great display. Great support

Amazon Customer February 24, 2026
Excellent display. Very high quality picture. I have to say that usb-c didn’t work out of the box. But DELL support was very very helpful and changed the monitor in two days. Since then I’m completely satisfied with a monitor

Good monitor

Wilson December 12, 2025
I’ve been using the Dell S2725QC for a few days now and I’m really happy with it. The 4K resolution is very sharp and the colors look great right out of the box. Text is crisp, which makes a big difference for work and browsing. The USB-C connection is super convenient — one cable powers my laptop and handles display at the same time. The stand feels solid and is easy to adjust for height and tilt.Overall, it’s a clean, modern monitor with excellent picture quality and great connectivity. Definitely worth the money for both work and everyday use.

Excellent color, contrast and deep blacks right out of the box.

Waldorf February 15, 2026
Zero dead pixels. Angle viewing from either side is excellent. Great for 3D CAD rendering and photo editing @4k.2 HDMI and a Type C input. Have this monitor on a KVM switch to my backup server. It does require a few seconds of blank screen to switch back from the server. I believe it’s just checking the various inputs first. Great overall value.Monitor is also setup to handle a 100 mm x 100 mm ANSI wall mount or swing bracket. However, BEWARE that the mounting points are recessed into the back of the monitor. The recessed opening is 120mm square by ~20mm deep. I replaced an LG monitor that uses a wall mounted flush swing arm ANSI bracket… the bracket was larger in height than the Dell opening. ANSI bracket had to be ground down about 7mm on the top and bottom to fit flush in the recess for a solid fit. Mounting holes then lined right up flush with the monitor. Not a problem, just an inconvenience. Only had it for a few days, but looks to be a keeper! 🤞

The Verdict

The Dell S2725QC earns its 91/100 score as a well-rounded 27-inch 4K monitor that punches above its price class. Its combination of 4K/120Hz on an IPS panel with a 1500:1 contrast ratio and USB-C 65W Power Delivery makes it a strong pick for home office users and casual gamers. Just be aware: no HDR support, no 3.5mm audio jack, and a modest ~350-nit brightness ceiling mean it's not the right tool for every desk.
