How SetupScore Makes Money
#

SetupScore is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon properties.

When you click a product link on SetupScore and make a purchase on Amazon, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This helps us cover the costs of:

  • Purchasing products for testing
  • Running price tracking infrastructure
  • Maintaining the website
  • Publishing in-depth reviews

Our Amazon Affiliate Tags
#

We use different affiliate tags for each Amazon region:

  • Amazon US: setupscore-20
  • Amazon UK: setupscore-21
  • Amazon DE: setupscore-21

Editorial Independence
#

Affiliate commissions do not influence our reviews or recommendations. We maintain strict editorial independence:

  1. Testing comes first: We test products before linking to them
  2. Honest assessments: We publish negative findings even if it means lower sales
  3. No pay-for-placement: Manufacturers cannot pay for better scores or featured placement
  4. Real purchases: We buy most products at retail prices to avoid manufacturer influence

What You Pay
#

Affiliate links do not increase the price you pay on Amazon. Amazon sets the price, and our commission comes from their marketing budget, not your wallet.

Example:

  • Product price on Amazon: $449
  • You click our affiliate link and purchase: $449 (same price)
  • Amazon pays us a small commission (~3%): $13.47
  • Your cost: Still $449

Price Tracking Transparency
#

Our automated price tracking system checks Amazon prices daily. If a price increases significantly, we update our reviews to reflect current value. We never hide price changes to maintain higher conversion rates.

Other Revenue Sources
#

Currently, affiliate commissions are our only revenue source. We do not:

  • Display banner ads
  • Sell email lists
  • Accept sponsored content
  • Promote products we haven’t tested

If we add additional revenue streams in the future, we’ll update this page and maintain our commitment to editorial independence.
